We had our Gods of Thunder session today & it went very well. We both played guitar together & the jamming & recordings came out very well. We got into a good, rocking groove & it was a great time. We are going to have another jam & recording session on Monday or Tuesday probably.

Now I am going to take some more photos tonight. I'm still going thru the ones from the other night to pick out the ones I like best.

Still so much work to do it isn't even funny. But theres a method to my madness, so it'll all work out just fine. I rotate my work & my projects so I don't get bored or burned out with any of them that way, too.

Some of your Earth food is so tasty, like milkshakes - I especially love milkshakes almost the very best - chocolate milkshakes or chocolate banana! I had a great one yesterday & another one a few days ago. Excellent taste!

OK, so tomorrow is our next Gods of Thunder recording session. My guitar player buddy is coming over in the afternoon after he gets out of his college classes for the day. He has some new riffs he says & we are gonna see how much we can get recorded in one day then meet again in a few days to continue. So far we have 2 songs that are nearly finished & sounding pretty darn good!

I have like 8 - 10 songs picked out so we will add the guitar trax to the drums I have on the recorders already. I went thru over 100 different potential songs to pick the very best ones out. These drums are very heavy - similar to Ministry & Godflesh etc. This music is going to be very heavy & dark Industrial - Metal edged sound. After the guitars tomorrow, I will add more guitar licks & some bass, too & then start on the vocals after that.

Took some new photos last night. Will look thru them tonight & post some that I like best onto Facebook. Will shoot more photos on & off during a few more nights this week... later...

I posted an entry last night but it didn't save or something cos its missing now & I didn't delete it. Oh we

Anyway I working on new vocals for my new song again today. I did the main vocals a few days ago & I wanted to wait 2 days or so before listening to the song again, cause that is way I like to work. With time in between sessions so I can let my music "breath" before I listen to the songs again. That way I hear it more in a more spontaneous way. So, today I added a bit of more melodic sounding vocals on top of the original Gothic-Industrial ones, though they were still spooky & haunting sounding.

The song is starting to take a good shape now & I can start to feel the finished song taking form at this point much better.

Saw Iron Man 2 finally because I was intentionally putting off seeing it for awhile, since I knew it wasn't going to be as kinetic & exciting as the original. It was an erratic film, but it didn't have some very inspired moments in there. But it was weird & annoying at times, too. Plus the "drone bots" reminded me of some kids cartoon or something.

Watched True Blood episode 3 tonight. It was decent. I loved the flashback to 1868 & Bill seeing his wife was very romantic & bittersweet, too. Sookie is still on her brave search for Vampire Bill now. The ending with Bill & his old flame having sex was quite surreal & intense...
He spun her head around & she said she still loved him the whole time they were doing it. Insane & unforgettable scene - love this show so much for its cool humor & unpredictability, for sure... Back to work tonight - more vocals & some synth trax need completed during my midnight sessions.

Feeling better now. Not as tired tonight. Watching Hanger 18 while I am working. I give them credit for trying to tell the tale when they made that movie, despite the low budget - there is a lot of heart put into the movie...

They got a lot of it pretty close to the truth even.

I'm still working on my overdubbing now & playing back the new song, too as I scrutinize it...

I played a bunch of my trax on Facebook tonight. Shame on me.

Mixed down the new song & shuttled into the Korg D1600 & now I am adding more trax to it before the final mixdown, Its going well tonight. Just so time consuming since the extended length version of the song is like 9 minutes long. I will probably be posing a version that is approx 6 minutes at the fadeout I would say at this point.

I put some guitar trax on it tonight (x 4) but won't know whether I intend to keep them all or not. I always wait & see how things sound during the final mixdown to decide what to keep & what to trash. Going to add some synth bits & solos next tonight. Then finally add some fianl vocal touches & some sound bytes after that. Trying to get this completed & mixed down over the weekend.

I really liked the mystery trax I found last night on some of my USB music back-up drives that I had nearly forgotten about. I wil definitely want to overdub on plenty of those trax this week too in between my SEANCE sessions, I mean. That album is going well for me. I really like the trax I have recorded for that album a lot. I think it will come out pretty good.

No problems with any of my gear despite the heat & humidity lately - knock on wood. The new processor is working great, too as is my latest distortion pedal - my beloved Line 6 Uber Metal - I totally love it! Eats batteries like a monster, tough - only drawback. I will order a power adapter for it on ebay to take care of that. But personally I do prefer it over my Boss Metal Zone & my Digitech Death Metal pedal, too & all the other distortion pedals I have, too. Its quickly become my fave Distortion pedal... OK, back to work now. Will write more later tonight or tomorrow...

I haven't been getting enough sleep lately & I was pretty darn tired tonight. It sort of caught up with me. I can't seem to sleep more than 3 - 4 hours before I wake back up. I have so much work to do & it's hard to keep up with my workload that I have imposed upon  myself. Such is life I suppose. I will complete my mission, though. For that is my ultimate goal & my main purpose in life. I love music & the Arts so much & creating music is something that I could never stop doing for anything in the world. The problem is that I create so much music that it leaves me little time for anything else & if I do start to slack on my music, the workload quickly piles up beyond measure. Oh, well - what am I complaining about. I love what I am doing with all my heart & I am grateful to the Universe for allowing me to do it.

I finished the main vocals for my new song "TWILIGHT OF THE IDOLS" last night. I am pretty pleased with the results. Next, I need to mix down the trax & bounce it all over to the D1600 so I can add some more synth bits & maybe some movie samples, too. Probably add some extra vocals on top, too, although the vocals I did already are quite spooky & intense & dense, so I don't actually need any more - but will experiment & see what I think, of course. I am using my ZOOM 1266 for my new trax & then bouncing to my D1600 to add more trax. I love the way the 1266 has the USB port so that I can shuttle my main trax right into the ZOOM 1226 in a matter of seconds. Technology like this is amazing. Sure beats my early analog days when I was working on crude machines like my humble Fostex X-15 before moving up to my Fostex R-8 for recording. But I can stil remember how excited I was to get those machines back in the day. I stil have a deep love & reverence for all my music gear & recording devices. They are like my family to me. I love all my equipment very much & I love to work together with my gear to create the music that is inside my head & also my spirit & my soul.

Like when I am programming drum beats - I feel so at one with the machine. I can write my beats so quickly after all these years. I'd say the 1266 is my favorite drum machine now, as the power of that unit is unheard of in my opinion. That's why I selected it over the 1608, since the drum aspects of the 1266 are far superior to the 1608, despite the 1608 being better for multi-track functionality. Plus with the 1266 I can program & save literally thousands of beats & hundreds of songs in the memory & save so many custom drum sets that I have tweaked myself. Try that with a Roland or Boss or Korg or Alesis. But I still love my other units as well. Each with its own unique sound & abilities.

Anyway, last night I was looking around for some old masters to post onto you tube & I found another cache of my music I had forgotten about - mainly basic stereo trax mixed down to waves. But I cherry picked thru them & came up with another 120+ trax that I can finish up over the summer. There was some pretty cool stuff in there. Mostly Industrial & Futuristic Electronic stuff. I know - its all I needed was to find more music that needs completed, right? Lets see - I have over 400+ trax completed now. Plus the original 250-300 Lo-Fi trax I did when I started. Then I guess there something 2000+ trax "in progress", plus way more when counting my DAT reserves.... I'd like to get at least 100 or more trax done by Fall. No wonder I get so stressed & tired all the time. Its quite a lot of work. But - I do it because I love it. And there is no better reason to do anything, in my humble opinion at least.

So, I will finish up the VORTEX OF DOOM "TWILIGHT OF THE IDOLS" song asap & then post it on you tube and last fm. Probably Friday or Saturday night, I'm estimating. OK, time to get back to work now... This music isn't going to create itself...

I just started this blog so I can write what's on my mind as far as music goes & other stuff going on in my life. I will probably link this to mY Facebook page at some point, too. Comments are welcome, though they will have to be approved  first by me - PURELY TO AVOID ANY NASTY FLAMING. Thank you for reading my So-Called Blog...
